LAKEMOOR VILLAGE HOMEOWNERS SAY NO TO HOME RULE ON APRIL 4

We Can’t Allow Our Village to Become a Home Rule Community

On the April 4 ballot, you’ll be asked one critical question:

Should I give Lakemoor unchecked power to raise taxes without voter approval?

In the debate over Home Rule, many see it as a simple way to get things done quickly and efficiently in Lakemoor. However, giving unchecked power to elected officials would mean raising taxes on residents without their approval — something that should not be taken lightly.

Home Rule shifts power away from the people and hands it to government decision makers.

Saying NO to home rule means keeping citizens involved and holding politicians accountable on a local level.

There’s no question; home rule will raise taxes.

Under home rule, officials can create any tax they want, and there are NO limits.

Local governments can pass new regulations and fees on to homeowners and businesses. They will create and increase taxes without voter approval.

Home rule doesn’t fix government problems; it funds the problems.

On April 4, VOTE NO on Home Rule in Lakemoor
